Meet the committee!

Gary Suto a.k.a. Gypsy.
Believe everything they tell you about Gemini’s (Sun in Gemini, Moon in Cancer, Leo Rising). I consider myself a solitary eclectic witch. I am Spiritual but lean toward Wiccan beliefs. I have been reading Tarot for 21 years, have given workshops and am on my 9th deck. Currently I am on the board of Directors for Diablo Light Opera Company in Walnut Creek and am assisting in organizing a Leather Levi Weekend in August. I have also served as a board member for Golden Gate Men’s Chorus. Volunteer activities include the California Aids Ride #5 & #6, Open Hand and Race for the Cure (Breast Cancer). I have a degree in Textile Technology, work at Levi Strauss in San Francisco and reside in Alameda with my cat Adobo. I am coordinating the San Francisco Bay Area Pagan Pride Day.

Jennifer Vaughn
I am an eclectic kitchen witch, believing strongly in the healing powers of a safe place, a soft shoulder, and a warm meal. We are a Gemini, and schedule accordingly to accommodate a school schedule, a full time job, candle lady duties, and volunteerism. My list of volunteer projects is long, but this is the first time I have had the opportunity to volunteer within the Pagan community. Other projects I am involved with- the annual ARIS benefit at casa lila, a former sexual assault counselor, and a current First Aid Instructor. I currently reside in Fremont with our web host, and the queen of the internet. I am functioning as the Web Mistress for this project, as well as helping to organize the vendors.

Melinda
Melinda (lily) loves nature, the universe, people, and small fuzzy animals and worships the experience of life.

Hi, All and welcome to SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA PAGAN PRIDE 2002, website.
I guess you'd like to know a bit about me, so here goes. I'm a self proclaimed Eco-Energy Pagan, (non-wiccan) who integrates many diverse aspects of Paganism into my practice. I'm a Virgo, and that's all that has to be said about that as you will see as this bio continues. I've been an adult special ed teacher for 20 yrs, and now retired. Currently I'm employed by the HAIGHT ASHBURY FREE CLINICS in San Francisco, where I work on a Federal Title IV project at Larkin Street Youth Centers, (programs for homeless, runaway, abused youth). The project that I work on is for HIV Positive Youth 18 to 25 years old. I'm also the founder of the PURPLE RING SPIRITUAL PRACTICE, a gay Pagan Men's spirituality, and a UNIVERSAL LIFE CHURCH affiliate. I also am a massage therapist in private practice.
My volunteer life is focused on Health Care, member of Health In Common (who's mission is to broaden people's perspectives on, and access to, holistic health and wellness options). Have volunteered for the Gay and Queer Men's Health Collective, And am the chairperson for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning Substance Abuse Advisory Committee to the San Francisco Department of Public Health.
As you can see, my Paganism is very involved and focused in health care. And it is approached from/with an Earth Based Spiritual drive.

Rayven Starr
Rayven has been a practicing Eclectic Witch for about a year and a half. She was raised Christian but found that her answers were met through the Goddess and the Wiccan beliefs. Currently unemployed, she has had experience in the child care and adult day care scenarios and is eagerly awaiting to go back to school. At 24, she's relatively new to the pagan community around the Bay Area and Pagan Pride Day will be her first event where she's on the coordination committee. She's currently working on gathering information for advertisements in newspaper and radio. If you know of a local, underground, high school or college paper or radio station that would like to advertise this event for us, please contact her at rayvenstarr@hotmail.com
Kathleen Smith
Involved with an eclectic group, name the Coven of Elastasia. I was born into a
Pagan family, but decided against doing anything but divination until I was
13.Since then, I have studied as much as I have been able to do, and I am a Pisces,
with a moon in Cancer. I also have a lot of Sagittarius in my chart as well, lol.
This is my first year working with other pagans in California, and before this I
dabbled in editorial work for a poetry magazine, and I've been named poet of the
year by the International Poets Society three years in a row ( I hope this year
will be the fourth). I
honestly do not know exactly what I am doing for the SFPPD, but I am doing my
best from far away to advertise this and giving my opinions, although I would
love to be a greater help. I am spoken for by a wonderful other half, I have one
cat and a zebra finch (and many, many pet bugs and such around the house), I am
a vegetarian, for the most part (for health reasons for right now), and my
passions in life are my writing, music, and art.
